Police Respond Late at Night

On Monday, September 30, 2024, just before midnight, police responded to reports of gunfire in the plaza’s parking lot. They discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Medics rushed him to the hospital, but despite efforts to save him, he died shortly after. Authorities confirmed the victim’s identity as Joey Omar Black, a Toronto resident.

Suspect Description Released

The suspect is a Black male, aged 18 to 22, standing 5’7” to 5’9” tall with a thin build. He wore a black hooded jacket, black pants, black face covering, black shoes, and orange gloves. Since the release of surveillance images, police have received tips, but no identification has been confirmed.

Vehicle Linked to Case

In addition to the suspect, the Crime in Toronto Joey Black investigation includes a vehicle. Detectives believe the individual left the area in a white four-door sedan. Although multiple images were captured, police still need help tracking down the car and its driver.
